2019 Gold Ink Award

Century Label’s Hella Cocktail Co. Founders Collection Eucalyptus label won a Pewter Award in Printing Impressions magazine’s 2019 Gold Ink Awards, Packaging (Labels) category.

2017 GOLD INK AWARD

Century Label’s shrink sleeve for The Eighteenth Sun imperial wheat IPA by Sun King Brewery (in conjunction with 18th Street Brewing) was a winner of a Pewter Award in the 2017 Gold Ink Awards, Digital Printing, Labels & Packaging category.

The beer was a limited release created for the CANvitational, a special annual event that Sun King holds along with dozens of breweries across the country in celebration of canned beer. The sleeve couples an intricate design with vibrant colors to create a visually stunning look.

2017 GOLD INK AWARD

Century Label printed the Great North Aleworks Tie Dyed pale ale shrink sleeve, winner of a Pewter Award in the 2017 Gold Ink Awards, Digital Printing, Labels & Packaging category.

The Tie Dyed piece is eye catching and contrasts a variety of colors with a stark white. The sleeves accommodate the customer's intricate white plating without registration issues, and a frosted look on the clear areas was created using the HP Indigo varnish.

2016 PSDA PEAK AWARD

Century Label’s shrink sleeve for Hoosier Brewing Company’s Red Flyer Ale picked up a Silver Award at the 2016 Print Services & Distribution Association PEAK Awards. This accolade represented the third straight year that Century Label was recognized by the committee.

The sleeve, which fits a 16 oz. can, features tight registration detail despite a multitude of raster elements. It maintains vibrant reds and yellows using 4-color process as opposed to spot PMS colors.

2016 HP Inkspiration Award

Century Label’s shrink sleeve for 30 Minute Coma by Sun King Brewery (in conjunction with Solemn Oath Brewery) took top prize in HP’s 2016 Inkspiration Awards for the Americas, Alcoholic Beverage category.

Century Label printed this shrink sleeve on the HP Indigo WS6800 Digital Press and used the Esko workflow solution to create a visually attractive shrink sleeve featuring fine details seen in the background advertising the “CANlaboration” between Sun King and Solemn Oath Breweries.

2015 PSDA PEAK AWARD

Century Label’s Tin Man Herald shrink sleeve received 1st Place under the category, “Best Digital Solution for Customer", during the 2015 PSDA PEAK Awards.

Tin Man Brewing Co. reached out to Century Label when they needed a printed shrink sleeve for their seasonal beer, Herald Imperial Pumpkin Ale. As part of the shrink sleeve design, Tin Man Brewing Co. requested that Century Label match a specific PMS orange, a color known for its difficulty. Century Label successfully produced the shrink sleeves by using extended gamut.

2015 FSEA Gold Leaf Award

Century Label’s LAND BY LAND label won Bronze in FSEA’s 22nd Annual Gold Leaf Awards in the category, Sheet or Rotary Label – Creative Use of Foil/Embossing.

For this label, Century Label printed on the Rapid Hot Stamp Press using black litho material where a bright gold foil imprint was stamped onto the label. After the foil was added, a lamination was added and the labels were die-cut.

2015 FSEA Gold Leaf Award

Century Label’s Pacific Plaza label won Silver in FSEA’s 22nd Annual Gold Leaf Awards in the category, Sheet or Rotary Label – Difficult Use of Foil/Embossing.

For this label, Century Label began by printing the label on the Indigo 6600 digital press using white semi-gloss material. The label material was then re-registered on the hot stamp press where the silver foil imprint was stamped on the label. Following this, a gloss lamination was applied and the labels were die-cut.

2014 TLMI Award

Century Label's Sparrow Lane Cabernet Sauvignon Vinegar label won 2nd Place, North American, in the 2014 TLMI Awards in the category, Digital Printing - Color Process Prime.

For this particular label, Century Label created a custom die to accomodate Sparrow Lanes' existing glass bottle packaging and modified the electronic art files to meet the needs of the printing process. The labels were printed digitally with CMYK + white inks on bright silver paper to resemble the look of a foil stamp without the cost of the foil stamp process. Finishing required holding tight borders during the trimming process.

2014 PSDA PEAK Award

Century Label entered their Ball Jar Dissolvable Labels into PSDA's 2014 PEAK Awards and was selected as an Honorable Mention for the category, "Most Innovative Solution to a Client Problem".

Century Label began working with Jarden Home Brands in mid 2009 to develop a retail label for its recognizable glass Ball jars. Jarden needed a label that would adhere well to the jars with the ability to write on them but would remove easily by hand-washing or running the jars through the dishwasher.

"Our solution was to coat water soluble paper with water soluble adhesive, convert it to printing, and die cut the label to Jarden's specification," says Century Label VP Business Development, Greg Rogers.

The finished Jarden Home Brands' oval label measures 2.25" wide and 1.125" high, is sold in packaging of 60 labels per roll, and is available in retail stores across the U.S. and online at freshpreservingstore.com.

2012 HP Print Excellence Award

Century Label received the 1st Place Award for the Shrink Sleeve Category in the HP Print Excellence Awards competition. Our winning entry was the "Lemon Verbena" shrink sleeve pictured at right.

The Lemon Verbena Shrink Sleeve which displays an intricate floral design, was produced using our advanced HP Indigo digital press. Century Label faced several challenges in producing this particular shrink sleeve. To start, six layers of ink were used to create this design. That amount of ink coverage always produces technical challenges that can be difficult to overcome. Also, using a digital four color process to print multiple neutral colors as are featured in this design, is not the easiest task for this particular print process. Finally, holding registration on the fine inset white border on the green band was achieved. The difficulties that were overcome resulted in an elegant, beautifully designed shrink sleeve that our customer was more than happy with.

2009 HP Digital Labels & Packaging Award

The Century Label team received the 2nd place award in the 2009 HP Digital Labels & Packaging Awards Contest for the category of Alcoholic Beverages. The Bohemian Spiced Whisky label pictured was Century Label’s submission to the competition.

In order to print this label, which features a multicolored bird with distinct feathers on a black background, the Century team researched and acquired a new base material, a custom die, and a new copper foil hot stamp material to highlight the richness of the whisky and the shape of the bottle. The label was first printed on the digital press and then printed again on the hot stamp press, yielding eye-catching metallic highlights.
